Rogerio Botter Maio Trio

Their musical work is based on a variety of Brazilian rhythms comprising jazz elements, South American flavors and music from other parts of the world.
The all Brazilian trio, consisting of piano, acoustic guitar and acoustic bass, performs the repertoire of Rogério’s five released cds so far.

Some of Rogerio Botter Maio Trio´s main international performances were at Jazz Festivals in Argentina (Buenos Aires and La Plata Jazz Festival) and at the Bird´s Eye jazz club in Switzerland.

He studied in Austria (1987-89) at the Hochschule für Musik in Graz in both jazz and classical programs. In ‘89, while living in Rome, Italy, he played the role of a musician in the movie “God Father III”.
He was awarded a scholarship for the Berklee College of Music in Boston in ‘91. While living in New York City from ’92 to ‘97 he worked with Paquito d’Rivera, Lionel Hampton, Cláudio Roditi, Leny Andrade among others. He has recorded with Gerry Mulligan & Jane Duboc, Dom Salvador, Hendrik Meurkens and Naná Vasconcelos, Manfredo Fest among others.

With his BraSilian World 4tet Rogerio has performed at the Indonesia Open Jazz Festival besides playing in several other European countries. As a composer, arranger and producer he has released five independent cds. He has held numerous workshops on Brazilian music in several countries including USA, Italy, Spain, Holland, Indonesia and Portugal.

In São Paulo, where he resides, Rogério leads several different projects and is currently producing his sixth CD.
